Roach writers / players Harry Langdon
and Charley Rogers (as "Bert" and "Alf")
on the set of their 1941 feature Double Trouble.
A Roach what-if: while we've yet to find
a photo of Stan Laurel posing with his
comic protegee Matthew "Stymie" Beard,
we figured we'd make one.
Eddie Dunn, Edgar Kennedy, and Thelma Todd
in a scene from Hurdy Gurdy (1929).
The two Eds also worked behind the camera -
Kennedy as a director, Dunn as a director and
writer. Thelma's contribution was pure charm.
Our Gang producer-director-writer Bob McGowan
and two of his favorite actors - Joe Cobb and
Allen "Farina" Hoskins - on the set of
Boys Will Be Joys (1925).
Director Edgar Kennedy discusses a
scene with Laurel and Hardy on the
set of You're Darn Tootin' (1928).
Roach shorts were often re-written
during filming; everyone wanted to
be sure that the comedy was as good
as it could get.
